Project Description: The Omics Analysis Department (OAD) laboratories constitute a specialized scientific research unit of the National Veterinary Research Institute – National Research Institute. Their role is to implement the latest omics technologies (genomics, proteomics, and transcriptomics) in the area of food chain safety for products of animal origin and animal health. The Omics Analysis Department comprises the following laboratories: High-Throughput Sequencing – genomics laboratory (wet-lab) and bioinformatics laboratory (dry-lab), Microarray Laboratory, and High-Resolution Mass Spectrometry Laboratory.

Efficient operation of laboratory and equipment infrastructure requires investment in maintaining the necessary laboratory environment conditions, equipment functionality and metrological consistency, personnel qualifications and competencies, and ensuring consumables and reagents used for optimization and quality control of analytical methods. Maintaining the current pace of research activities and the role of the OAD laboratory complex in applying innovative omics technologies in modern agricultural economy requires securing adequate financial resources. Funds under the proposed project will enable maintaining the high throughput of the OAD laboratory team, maintaining the research infrastructure necessary to ensure continuity of analyses performed, and maintaining the highest level of innovation.
