Determination of rabies virus antibody levels by FAVN test
Description
Determination of rabies virus-specific antibody levels using the FAVN test for the movement of companion animals (dogs, cats, ferrets) to countries requiring such tests. The minimum required antibody level is ≥0.5 IU/ml.

Sample type
Animal serum, no less than 1 ml, or blood in a volume of no less than 2-3 ml.
The serum should be sent/delivered to the laboratory chilled – not frozen – along with a cooling pack ensuring a temperature of <≤10 degrees Celsius, no later than 5 days from the date of collection. Until dispatch, the serum should be stored at a temperature of <≤10 degrees Celsius.

The sample must be accompanied by a complete set of filled-out documents (research order and application for antibody level determination), and proof of payment, which will confirm the acceptance of the sample for testing.
Notes
For EXPRESS service, it is absolutely necessary to provide an email address to which the result will be sent. The turnaround time for express testing (5 business days) refers to the electronic delivery of the result. Lack of complete formal data will result in an extended delivery time for the result, calculated from the day the data is supplemented.
The first day of express testing is counted from the day following the day the sample is delivered to the laboratory.
