Department’s Research Profile:<\/strong>The Department of Parasitology and Invasive Diseases (DPI) conducts service, monitoring, confirmatory, and appeal tests for livestock parasitoses, bee diseases, fish diseases, as well as mollusc and crustacean diseases, and the production of autovaccines for fish. DPI also performs pre-registration studies of antiparasitic drugs and vaccines, and biological veterinary preparations, as well as parasitological analyses of sewage sludge, organic fertilizers, and mineral-organic fertilizers.The laboratory issues opinions on preparations used for veterinary laboratory diagnostics, and on the impact of organic and organic-mineral fertilizers on animal health before their market introduction. Diagnostics of aquatic animal diseases includes clinical, necropsy, parasitological, bacteriological, virological, and serological examinations.In its reference activities, DPI provides substantive supervision over the laboratories of the Veterinary Inspection (IW) conducting research on the aforementioned diseases. Furthermore, the Department conducts scientific and research activities involving the development and improvement of diagnostic methods, and organizes conferences and training for veterinarians and IW employees. <\/p>\n\n
