Swine Viral Diseases<\/strong>Leader: Katarzyna Podg\u00f3rska, PhDemail: katarzyna.podgorska@piwet.pulawy.pl<\/a> tel: 81 889 3030<\/a>Research profile of the team: – research in the field of epidemiology, pathogenesis, immunology and prevention of viral diseases of swine– conducting epidemiological surveillance of selected viruses in the national swine population, using molecular biology and serology methods– development, validation and optimization of modern diagnostic methods– diagnostics of viral infections, including: swine influenza (SI), classical swine fever (CSF), African swine fever (ASF), porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS), Aujeszky’s disease (AD), and transmissible gastroenteritis (TGE)– evaluation and expert assessment of in vitro diagnostic products used in veterinary medicine for the diagnosis of CSF, ASF, PRRS and AD;– initial batch control of immunological veterinary medicinal products– determination of virucidal activity of chemical disinfectants and antiseptics, including against ASF virus– National Reference Laboratories for ASF, CSF, AD and PRRS; World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) Reference Laboratories for CSF and PRRS– production and distribution of certified reference materials for laboratory applications<\/p>\n\n
