Research profile of the Department:<\/strong>Research on the diagnosis, control, and epidemiology of bacterial diseases of animals, including zoonoses; studies on bacterial resistance to antimicrobial agents; development and improvement of research methods \u2013 serological, microbiological, and molecular \u2013 in the field of bacterial diseases of animals. Reference activities in the diagnosis of salmonellosis (in the aspect of zoonotic diseases), brucellosis, bovine tuberculosis, paratuberculosis, anthrax, listeriosis, glanders, tularemia, contagious equine metritis, Q fever, chlamydiosis, blackleg in cattle, contagious bovine pleuropneumonia, contagious agalactia of sheep and goats, borreliosis, avian mycoplasmosis, leptospirosis, antimicrobial resistance: Salmonella spp. and Escherichia coli.Service activities: serological testing for bacterial diseases of animals: brucellosis, glanders, listeriosis, paratuberculosis, mycoplasmoses of cattle, poultry, swine, avian ornithobacteriosis, canine borreliosis, leptospirosis, detection of bacterial pathogens in biological material from animals, detection of genetic material of bacterial pathogens.Activities for OMCL purposes: preliminary batch control of immunological veterinary medicinal products, including tuberculins, qualitative testing of immunological veterinary medicinal products in the area of biological testing \u2013 sterility, qualitative testing of tuberculins.Preparation of opinions for in vitro diagnostic devices used in veterinary medicine, expert assessments, risk assessment reports for public administration authorities.Participation in expert and international bodies.Training and educational activities: training in bacterial diseases of animals and antimicrobial resistance for veterinary inspection staff and agricultural advisory centers, training of students and pupils (summer and vocational internships) in laboratory diagnostics of bacterial diseases, scientific supervision of doctoral candidates.<\/p>\n\n
