The 15^th Conference on pork husbandry issues [2010-06-22 13:32:53]

The 15^th international hyopatological conference “Competitive breeding of healthy piglets and porkers – challenges for breeders and veterinarians” took place in the National Veterinary Research Institute on June 15-16, 2010. The event was organised by the Department of Swine Diseases (NVRI). Nine hundred and fifty participants and fifty-four exhibitors, including guests from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Hungary, Slovakia, and Czech Republic, took part. Monique Eloit, OIE Deputy Director, presented lecture opening the conference. Altogether thirteen lectures were given. Apart from the main conference, four satellite sessions and a one-day conference (June 14, 2010) for Russian speaking scientists and veterinarians, were organised. Moreover, Janusz Związek, CVO, on behalf of Marek Sawicki, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, presented a diploma to Professor Zygmunt Pejsak, Head of the Department of Swine Diseases, for his contribution to Polish agriculture development.
